The City of Coconut Creek is set to host an event as part of its Never Forget Cultural Series, honoring National Americana Month and commemorating the events of September 11, 2001.
The evening will provide a space to reflect on America’s path to independence and the challenges the nation has overcome, including the devastating attacks on 9/11.
The event takes place on Tuesday, September 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the City of Coconut Creek Commission Chambers, located at 4800 West Copans Road. It will feature speakers from the NYPD and FDNY who served during the 9/11 attacks and presentations from the Coconut Creek Police and Fire Departments.
Attendees will also have the chance to explore displays about Americana, the Bald Eagle, and a collection of exhibits related to the events of September 11.
In addition to the presentations, all guests will receive free hot dogs and lemonade. The event is open to middle school-aged children and adults, and admission is free. However, registration is required, as space is limited to 150 participants. Registration will remain open until capacity is reached.
Residents are encouraged to register at the Recreation Complex at 954-956-1580. For further information or questions, individuals can also visit CoconutCreek.net/NeverForget.
