Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from July 8 to July 16. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Property Crimes & Incidents
Vehicle Burglaries:
A firearm was stolen from a vehicle at Banyan Bay Apartments between July 7 and 8. Estimated loss: $523.
An attempted burglary occurred at Pond Apple One between July 12 and 13. A window was punched, but entry wasn’t made.
Auto Thefts:
Three vehicles were reported stolen from Banyan Bay, Evergreen Lakes, and Applewood Village 3 between July 9 and 13.
Additional vehicle thefts occurred at Bayport and Applewood Village 2.
Retail Thefts:
Sephora reported $2,283 in stolen goods between July 3 and 4.
Marathon Gas Station and Orion Gas Station reported separate thefts involving forged currency totaling $900.
Walgreens reported a $40 theft on July 13.
Fraud:
A victim reported $8,000 in fraudulent credit card charges in Miami-Dade on July 10.
Another resident reported losing $3,745 due to fraudulent Zelle transactions.
A separate case involved alleged forgery of stock certificates.
Violent & Serious Crimes
Attempted Homicide:
A 34-year-old woman was the victim of an attempted homicide at Tallowwood MHP on July 8.
Aggravated Assault:
A woman was threatened with a deadly weapon at Banyan Bay on July 14.
Aggravated Battery:
A woman was the victim of aggravated battery in the Bell community on July 12.
Elder Abuse:
Three incidents involving suspected elder neglect or abuse were reported at various Coconut Creek residences and facilities.
Other Notable Incidents
Stalking & Domestic Violence:
A woman reported stalking and loitering behavior at Woodlake Villas on July 9.
Two domestic disturbances were documented on July 14 at Paloma Lakes and Country Lakes.
Drug Offenses:
A suspect was arrested for trafficking fentanyl during a traffic stop on July 9.
Additional narcotics arrests included possession of cannabis and oxycodone.
Mental Health & Welfare:
Multiple Baker Acts were initiated for individuals experiencing mental health crises.
One case involved a HAZMAT response to possible fentanyl exposure.
Deaths:
Two natural deaths were reported at Karanda 4 and Wynmoor.
A 23-year-old man died after a vehicle fell on him during repairs on July 14.
Arrests
Jean Camy Alerte, 27, arrested for aggravated stalking – July 12.
Jaquia Ekua Ansah, 30, arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – July 14.
Ryan Michael Foley, 52, arrested for trafficking in fentanyl – July 9.
Joshua Housen, 39, arrested for battery on a person 65+ – July 12.
Asia Green, 29, arrested for criminal mischief and obstructing extinguishment of a fire – July 12.
James K. Raghubir, 35, and Edigar Costa Neves, 27, arrested for felony cannabis possession – July 14 and 9, respectively.
Brianna Lynn Brooks, 26, arrested for DUI – July 15.
Myesha Aaliayha Brown, 30, arrested for possession of oxycodone – July 15.
Additional arrests included trespassing, resisting without violence, and misdemeanor battery on outstanding warrants.
