Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is once again teaming up with Duffy’s Sports Grill to give the community an opportunity to support military service members — and enjoy a sweet reward in return.
The annual “Give a Box, Get a Box” event will take place on Friday, Feb. 6, from 5 to 9 p.m., at participating Duffy’s Sports Grill locations
During the event, anyone who purchases a box of Girl Scout cookies to donate to the military will receive a free box of cookies as a thank-you.
The initiative benefits the Cookies for the Military program, which sends Girl Scout cookies to service members stationed in the United States and overseas.
“Give a Box, Get a Box is a powerful way for our community to show appreciation for the men and women in uniform,” said Lisa Johnson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. “Our long-standing partnership with Duffy’s Sports Grill has helped us deliver tens of thousands of boxes of cookies to military members since the program began, and we are proud to continue this meaningful tradition.”
Since launching the program with Duffy’s Sports Grill in 2013, more than 45,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies have been donated through the initiative. This year, Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida aims to collect 2,950 boxes for service members.
Community members who are unable to attend the event can still support the effort by donating directly to the Cookies for the Military program at cookiesforthemilitary.org. Information on cookie booth locations and the Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program is available at gssef.org.
Duffy’s is located at 4800 W. Hillsboro Blvd. in Coconut Creek.
Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida serves more than 6,100 girls from kindergarten through 12th grade and engages approximately 3,600 volunteers across Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties.
Duffy’s Sports Grill, based in Palm Beach County, operates 29 full-service casual dining restaurants across Florida and is known for its sports-themed atmosphere and grilled menu offerings.
