Race for Education {Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber}
The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is seeking volunteers and participants for its second annual Race for Education 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek.
The event, which begins at 7 a.m. at 3600 W. Sample Road, will raise funds to provide classroom materials, educational resources and other enhancements for students and teachers at local elementary, middle and high schools.
Presented by Amera and supported by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, the race benefits the Chamber Education Foundation, which supports local educators through classroom resources and a micro-grant program that funds innovative projects to enhance student learning.
Volunteers are needed to help with activities ranging from assisting runners to supporting event operations. Volunteers can earn community service hours while contributing to local education.
Runners and walkers of all ages are also invited to participate in the 3.1-mile course, which welcomes competitive runners, families and recreational walkers.
Registration costs $40 for adults ages 18 and older and $30 for participants younger than 18. Online registration will remain open until 7:20 a.m. on race day.
Those interested in volunteering can visit the Race for Education volunteer form for more information. Interested in running? Visit Race for Education here.
