On Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order lifting Florida’s remaining Covid-19 restrictions; however, residents may not want to throw away their masks so quickly because private businesses can still require masks for entry, as well as enforce social distancing.
As for the City of Parkland, some administrative changes have been made based on government executive orders.
With Parkland’s ongoing effort to contain COVID-19, masks are strongly encouraged in city buildings, including City Hall and The Parkland Library.
“The City has been doing a great job and continues to make progress,” said Mayor Richard Walker.
City parks are operating in “pre-COVID” conditions while still encouraging masks, especially inside a city building. The Parkland Library is partially re-open with restrictions on services and in-person programming.
“We need to continue to educate and encourage residents to get vaccinated,” said Mayor Walker. “We need to move forward, but stay safe.”
Florida has now reached over 2 million Covid-19 cases, with Broward County having the second-most cases behind Miami-Dade County.
