An independent investigation has cleared Vice Mayor Jackie Railey of any wrongdoing following allegations that she misused her official position.
The findings, conducted by attorney and retired judge Thomas Michael Lynch, IV, concluded that Railey did not leverage her role for personal or professional gain.
The investigation, commissioned by the City of Coconut Creek after Railey publicly requested it during a January 9, 2025, Commission meeting, meticulously reviewed a wide array of evidence. This included police reports, emails, court documents, flash drives, videos, public records requests and responses, permit applications, and photographs.
After a thorough review, Lynch found no violations of statutory laws or city codes.
Lynch, who served 32 years on the bench and has extensive expertise in ethics laws, provided an independent and impartial assessment of the claims against Railey. His report determined that the allegations had no factual or legal basis.
“The City is pleased with the expeditious and thorough nature of the investigation and has full confidence in its findings,” a statement from the City of Coconut Creek read.
The election for her commission seat is on March 11, 2025, where she faces challenger Philippa Sklaar for the District B seat.
