Prepare to drive your way to a cure at the 4th Annual ‘Swing Fore A Cure’ Golf Tournament.
The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life chapters in Parkland, Coral Springs, Margate, and Coconut Creek have announced the 4th Annual “Swing Fore A Cure” Golf Tournament.
This charity event will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at The Country Club of Coral Springs, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The “Swing Fore A Cure” event underscores the American Cancer Society’s commitment to enhancing the lives of cancer patients and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support. The organization aims to ensure comprehensive access to prevention, detection, and treatment options, thereby increasing cancer survival rates.
“Since Covid, our mission has become harder,” explains golf event lead Chris Fletcher, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2019. “But we’ll rise to the challenge.
Funds raised help the American Cancer Society continue with cancer research, the 24/7 helpline, and continuing services to get patients the care and support they need where we can.”
Chris, who has been cancer-free for over four years, collaborates with his wife Amanda, fellow residents, and local businesses to make this fundraiser successful.
Participants in the golf tournament will enjoy a day filled with activities, including a round of golf, lunch, on-course games, and a chance to win exciting prizes.
Registration fees are $600 for a foursome and $150 for individual players. Special prizes include a Yeti Tundra 75 hard cooler, a Scotty Cameron putter, an Apple iPad, and a grand prize of $10,000.
The event boasts an impressive roster of sponsors, including Gunther Motor Company and the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation.
