Construction crews are beginning work on the long-awaited MainStreet at Coconut Creek mixed-use development.
Drivers along Lyons Road, just north of Sample Road, may notice bulldozers and backhoes preparing the land for infrastructure for the 200-acre project.
Whole Foods has signed an agreement with the developer to be an anchor tenant in the development, according to Mayor Jackie Railey.
An official groundbreaking ceremony date has not been set, but Railey said she hopes it will take place in the next few months.
“We are excited about this new development,” said Railey.
