A major infrastructure was approved for renovation during the July 10 meeting.
The commission approved a resolution for an agreement with Crom Coatings and Restorations to provide labor and material for the relining of the water storage tank located at 4801 Hilton Road for $937,600.
Coconut Creek owns and maintains a two-million-gallon water storage tank to ensure water quality for safe consumption and maintain water pressure for fire suppression throughout its utility service area.
The water tank liner was installed 12 years ago and has exceeded its ten-year useful life expectancy, resulting in the water tank showing signs of stress and visible water leaks. The proposed project involves the removal of the old internal liner and the installation of a new one, as well as the rehabilitation of internal components within the water storage tank, according to city information.
