Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from September 2 to 8, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Fraud and Scams
Fraud – Impersonation: A 46-year-old male reported fraud at 4809 Coconut Creek Parkway between June 4 and 7. Report filed Sept. 2.
Fraud – Other: A 55-year-old male victim reported fraudulent activity at 5321 Lyons Rd. between Aug. 19, 2024, and Sept. 2, 2025. Estimated loss: $50,000.
Fraud – Identity Theft: A 41-year-old female reported her information was used to rent an apartment at 5201 W. Hillsboro Blvd. on Sept. 2. Estimated loss: $556.
Fraud – Wire/Computer: A 60-year-old female at Wynmoor was deceived online and lost $5,877 on Sept. 2.
Theft and Property Crimes
Lost/Stolen Tag: A tag was reported missing from 4689 SR 810 (Tire Choice) between July 5–Sept. 2.
Package Thefts: Two residents of Sunshine Drive reported stolen Amazon packages between Aug. 28–Sept. 2. Losses: $83 and $93.
Theft – Retail:
Walmart, 5771 SR 810, reported a shoplifting incident on Sept. 2. Loss: $177.
Walmart, 5571 W. Hillsboro Blvd., reported a shoplifting on Sept. 3. Loss: $205.
Walmart, 5571 SR 810, reported another shoplifting on Sept. 7. Loss: $108.
Kohl’s, 6950 N. State Road 7, reported shoplifting between Sept. 5–6. Loss: $698.
Theft – From Building:
A phone was stolen at Solaris Healthcare, 4125 W. Sample Rd., between Aug. 30–31. Loss: $1.
A safe containing $40,000 in cash and $13,000 in jewelry was reported stolen from Coquina, though the victim had not seen the items since Jan. 2024.
Theft – From Motor Vehicle:
Tall Trees: A 43-year-old female reported an unlocked vehicle burglary between Sept. 4–5. Loss: $900.
Banyan Bay Apartments: A 35-year-old male reported his wallet stolen from his vehicle overnight Sept. 4–5. Loss: $150.
Vehicle Theft: A 2023 black Honda Civic was stolen overnight, Sept. 3–4, from Cypress Shores.
Domestic Disturbances & Batteries
Multiple domestic disputes reported at Paloma Lakes, Coconut Palm Club, Avalon, Bell Apartments, County Lake MHP, Preserve Cypress Hammocks, Wynmoor, and Banyan Bay.
Simple Batteries:
A 38-year-old female was involved in a mutual combat incident at Coconut Palm Club on Sept. 2.
A 19-year-old female reported a domestic battery at Banyan Bay on Sept. 3.
A 27-year-old female and a 39-year-old male were involved in a domestic battery at Wynmoor on Sept. 4; two arrests were made.
Additional simple battery incidents were reported at Walmart, County Lake MHP, Preserve Cypress Hammocks, Coconut Creek High School, and Bell Apartments.
Robbery
Home Invasion: A 54-year-old male victim reported a home invasion and aggravated assault at Tallowood (3218 NW 64th Ct.) on Sept. 3. Estimated loss: $10,200.
DUIs and Traffic
Several DUI-related arrests:
Sept. 3: Crash at 5400 W. Sample Rd. resulted in DUI arrest.
Sept. 4: Disabled vehicle at 3500 Lyons Rd. led to DUI arrest.
Sept. 5: Traffic stop at 5000 W. Sample Rd. resulted in DUI arrest.
Sept. 6: Traffic stop at 5000 Lyons Rd. resulted in DUI arrest.
Traffic Stops: Tags seized at Banks Rd./Coconut Creek Pkwy and W. Sample Rd./NW 54th Ave.
Other Incidents
Deaths (Natural): Reported at 1920 NW 39th Ave. (Sept. 2) and 1501 Cayman Way (Sept. 4).
Suspicious Incidents: Sunshine Drive (Sept. 2), South Florida Jewish Academy (gunshot report, Sept. 4), South Creek (Sept. 5).
Property Damage: Gate-related incidents at Centura Parc (Sept. 4), Banyan Pointe (Sept. 5).
Police Assists: Multiple assists with DCFS investigations at Coconut Creek K-8 Academy, Wynmoor, and Parkwood.
Baker Acts: Several individuals taken for evaluation between Sept. 3–5.
Arrests
Tatiana Alejandra Galofre, 32 — charged with Touch or Strike Battery/Dating Violence (M) at Bell Apartments on Sept. 7.
Kirk Gregory Hector Ellis, 45 — charged with Petit Theft 1st Degree ($100–$750, M) at Walmart, 5571 SR 810, on Sept.
