Aspiring young volleyball players have a new opportunity to sharpen their skills on the sand with Coconut Creek’s special skills session for outdoor sand volleyball.
The program is aimed at players aged 12 to 17 and is set to take place on Fridays from November 3 through December 15, with a break during the Thanksgiving week on November 24.
The sessions, scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., enhance participants’ abilities in essential volleyball skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking. These sessions are unique as they take place on a sand court, offering a different playing experience and set of challenges from indoor volleyball.
The fee for the program is an affordable $15 for Coconut Creek residents, while non-residents can join for $20. Participants must make payments via credit card, as cash and checks are not accepted now.
The venue is the Windmill Park sand volleyball courts, located at 700 Lyons Road.
Interested parties should act quickly, as registration is ongoing until filled, and spots are limited to only 12 participants. Registrations can be made online through the city’s WebTrac system or by walk-in at the Community Center on Lyons Road or the Recreation Complex on Sol Press Boulevard.
It’s important to note that a WebTrac account is needed for online registration, and for those needing assistance to set up an account, the Community Center is ready to help at 954-545-6670.
