Marjory Stoneman Douglas pitcher Brandon White officially announced that he would be continuing his athletic career in college.

On Monday, White committed to play at South Florida State College in Avon Park following his senior season on the team.

White played on the varsity team for two years and helped contribute to the Eagles State and National Championship. He made five relief appearances and picked up a win against Hialeah Educational Academy.

The Coral Springs native picked up two crucial outs before MSD scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh. White also struck out seven batters last year.

His baseball career began at six years old. He says a big part of his success goes to his parents and grandparents along with Head Coach Todd Fitz-Gerald, trainer Nick Taylor, and the entire MSD community.

While White had multiple schools interested in him, he felt South Florida State College was the best fit.

“When I toured the school, the atmosphere was great and very welcoming,” White added. “I’d like to thank the coaches for taking a chance on me, especially Coach Andy Polk.”

Following his senior year with MSD, White is set to join a program that won eight games in 2020 and has two players on the team from Coral Springs High School in Max Wank and Oscar Contreras.
