Parkland will soon be home to an adult softball league, and they are looking for more men and women to play.
Starting September 19, the co-ed teams will meet to play seven innings of slow-pitch softball on Sunday mornings.
According to Christine Garcia, Director of Parks and Recreation, the city recognized the need for more adult sports and activities and implemented ways to bring the community together.
Interested residents can gather a group of friends to form a team of ten or more players, or they can register on their own.
“We already have a list of enough individuals to form at least two more teams,” said Garcia.
The cost for a team to join the league is $600, which can be split between the players or paid by a sponsor if the team obtains one.
Residents must be 18 or older to participate, and the games will take place at Pine Trails Park on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. through December 19.
