While most students were getting ready for the holiday break, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas wrestling team competed through December.
After winning the Coral Springs Wrestling Tournament on December 4 in their opening match, the Eagles competed in two tournaments since then.
Their best result came in the Mater Lakes Duals on December 11 as the Eagles finished in second place and went 4-1. MSD then competed in Archbishop McCarthy Gillis Strong Tournament on December 17-18. The Eagles cane within points of finishing in the top five and settled for seventh out of 20 teams.
“It was a strong showing because we were missing seven starters as we and had three junior varsity wrestlers in our lineup,” said Head Coach Ken Gendason.
Next, the Eagles are preparing to participate in the District Dual Meet Championships on Friday, January 7.
