November is the start of so many great events and happenings in our community. Turkey, football, and putting up holiday decorations are all getting us in the spirit of the season.
Some of us are staying home, and some are traveling, but all of us are thankful for this special time with family and friends. Please remember those who may be less fortunate, and let’s all do our part to help where we can.
In October, I was honored to participate in the troop deployment ceremony of the Florida National Guard. Members of this unit are comprised of residents of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.
They were deployed in areas in the Middle East for approximately one year. Their service and sacrifice are a testament to their character and commitment to keep our country safe. We salute you and thank you and your loved ones for your service.
Veterans Day is November 11. Let’s take this opportunity to pay tribute to the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Please attend a local event honoring our veterans. Veterans are truly our hometown heroes.
I look forward to joining residents of District 3 at these events to say thank you for all that they have done.
Broward County’s Cultural Division is helping artists in our community branch out into the digital art (NFT-non-fungible token) marketplace. Last month, my office hosted a happy hour event with speakers in the NFT space to discuss the opportunities for artists and how to navigate this technology effectively.
With a full house present, we will certainly be hosting future events around this topic. To watch this discussion into the world of NFTs and the future of the arts, visit broward.org/arts.
Port Everglades has opened the brand-new Heron Garage. The new garage will service Terminals 2 and 4 and provide easily accessible parking for travelers. Heron Garage is the first fully solar-powered garage at Port Everglades.
Additionally, it is also equipped with moving walkways, so travelers will have an easy time getting luggage to and from. Cruising is back, and our Powerhouse Port is all hands-on deck for your next vacation!
Is everybody ready to go for a personal best mark in this year’s Turkey Trot? Celebrating 40 years of Thanksgiving Day “trotting” in Tamarac to support the Parks and Recreation Foundation of Tamarac. Come on out for a pre-Thanksgiving meal workout and a great time with our community.
I look forward to seeing you there!
Lastly, on behalf of the entire Udine family, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. As we all gather around our table with family and friends, let us be thankful for all of those in our lives and how fortunate we are.
The top priority for my staff and I is staying connected with the residents of District 3. We are available by phone, email, and social media.
