According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, correctly installed car seats can reduce the risk of fatal injury in a passenger car crash by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers.
The Coconut Creek Police Department is here to help with a team of fully certified child safety seat inspectors, ready to ensure your car seat is installed correctly—and their services are completely free.
Mark your calendars for the department’s first event of the year, a Car Seat Safety Check, on Saturday, January 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The event takes place at the Butterfly Lot at 5280 NW 40th Street, Coconut Creek.
During this three-hour event, certified technicians will inspect your car seat, provide personalized advice, and assist with any necessary adjustments to ensure your child’s seat is as safe as possible.
You can also schedule an appointment for the event by emailing carseatcheck@coconutcreek.net.
