Juliana Zamorano loves playing the bass guitar and singing.
A student at Monarch High School, she became involved with The Sweet & Sauers, a band made up of students and teachers.
“Being in this band is lots of fun, and I enjoy playing punk rock and regular rock. It was good to perform in front of people,” said Zamorano.
The Sweet & Sauers began with English teacher John Seminario and U.S. history teacher Todd Sauers, both at Monarch. They enjoy playing rock music and have performed on campus and at local events. Sauers plays the electric guitar, and Seminario plays the drums. On December 12, the band gave a holiday performance during both lunch periods in the school’s courtyard. Many of the students gathered around and enjoyed the concert.
“We love to play music, and we will work with students who are interested in performing with us. We want it to be a fun experience,” said Seminario.
Alessandro Botton, a bass player, said he enjoys being part of the band and performing.
