Authorities have announced a second arrest in the ambush and robbery that occurred at the Coconut Palm Club Apartments.
According to Coconut Creek Police Department records, the crime, initially linked to Sacaya Kyana Louis, 20, of Coral Springs, has now led to the arrest of Ebony Nicole Pitters, 42, of Lauderhill, who faces multiple felony charges, including robbery with a weapon, burglary, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault.
According to police records, additional details of the crime show the victim had a heated phone argument with her ex-boyfriend, during which Pitters and her daughter, Sacaya, secretly listened to the conversation.
While eavesdropping, Pitters allegedly began devising a plan to confront the victim. During the call, Pitters was overheard saying, “Oh, so the setup is supposed to be at your house,” which raised suspicion by the victim, who could hear their comments.
Later that day, the report shows the victim drove to the Coconut Palm Club Apartments to meet her ex-boyfriend, unaware that Sacaya and Ebony were waiting for her. She confronted her ex-boyfriend about the “setup,” but he denied involvement and urged her to leave the area.
As the victim walked back to her car, she was attacked with a knife and, eventually, beaten inside an apartment she fled to.
Following an investigation, Pitters was arrested and charged with her role in the ambush and robbery. Sacaya Kyana Louis, who was previously arrested for her involvement, faces similar charges.
The Coconut Creek Police Department continues to investigate the case.
