Tradewinds Elementary School in Coconut Creek hosted its first Spring Into Health Wellness Fair on March 15.
The school’s PTA organized the event, which included fun activities and games for the children, a Zumba class, vendors offering health-oriented products, bounce houses, and a food truck.
Parents and children participated in a sack race, and children played games that involved running under the direction of an announcer. Families from the school got to know one another.
“We wanted to have a fun event for the entire school community. We all came together to make it happen,” said Lisbeth Linert, vice president of events for the Tradewinds PTA.
When the PTA approached Tradewinds principal Dr. Priscille Elie about having a health event, she agreed it was a good idea. “I love to see the school community coming together and having fun. I believe it takes a village to raise a child,” she said.
On April 12, the PTA will hold an in-school fun run for the children.
