Tweens and teens hoping to share their talents in front of a live audience now have the opportunity in Parkland’s first ever “Open Mic Night”.
Whether it’s reciting an original poem or performing a song, they’ll have plenty of space to take center stage – and a bow at the Pine Trails Amphitheater.
This family friendly free event is for people of all ages, but geared towards teens. There are no limitations to what a person can perform, but it has to be clean. Depending on the number of participants, each person will get an average of three minutes on stage. There will also be a DJ with music in between sets.
The evening will also have a kid zone with free arts and craft activities, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Open Mic Night is from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Friday, June 1 at the Pine Trails Amphitheater. Students from Westglades Middle School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School welcome.
The amphitheater is located at 10555 Trails End, Parkland, FL 33076. Sign-ups will be near the stage.
