A pair of North Broward Prep boys basketball players have officially announced their commitments to continue their careers at the collegiate level.
Sam Cano is set to play at Ithaca College.
“I’m thankful for North Broward Prep basketball for everything it’s given me — the lessons, the experiences, and the teammates who became family,” Cano said.
Cano played three years on the varsity team, averaging 10.4 points per game while also totaling 49 rebounds. During his time, North Broward Prep won a pair of District Championships and finished his senior season ranked 18th in the state. He will join an Ithaca team that won 10 games last season, including nine in conference play.
Francesco Borio has committed to Lynn University.
“I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey,” Borio said. “I’m forever grateful for my time at North Broward Prep with Coach Casey.”
Borio also played three years on varsity and emerged as the team’s leading scorer during his senior season. He averaged 15 points per game, along with 6.6 rebounds and nearly two blocks per contest. He will join a Lynn University team that went 14-14 last season, with nine of its wins coming in conference play.
