Juliana Zamorano thrives on music, performing with diverse ensembles.
A student at Monarch High School, she is part of the theater program, jazz band, and chorus. One of her favorite groups is Sweet & Sauers, a rock band that loves to get together to play music and have some fun.
“The reason I love to sing and play bass with this band is that I am not under as much pressure as I am with other music groups I am part of,” said Zamorano.
Sweet & Sauers was created by Monarch High English teacher John Seminario and U.S. history teacher George Sauers. The band includes teachers and students who enjoy getting together to play rock music. Sauers plays the electric guitar, and Seminario plays the drums.
The band is preparing for a concert at Monarch High’s auditorium on Wednesday, May 6. Admission is $12 cash, and the money raised will go to the music honor society, according to Zamorano.
“We will play songs that people want to hear and some they don’t want to hear,” said Seminario.
Monarch High School is located at 5050 Wiles Road, Coconut Creek.
