Two people were injured in a two-car crash Monday that slowed the morning commute in Coconut Creek, police said.
The crash happened at 8:53 a.m. at the intersection of Copans Road and Lyons Road. As of 9:22 a.m., the police department said on social media that the accident was “making things congested and slow.”
Authorities urged drivers to “avoid the area if you can and pick an alternate route.”
Two people injured in the crash were taken to HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in Margate for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to Coconut Creek Police Spokesman Scotty Leamon.
Officers were investigating the crash and said they would need time to clean up the scene.
At 10:15 a.m., police said the crash scene had been cleared and traffic at the intersection was flowing normally.
