Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from September 1 to September 7, 2026. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Incidents
Theft
Walgreens at 4600 Coconut Creek Parkway reported the theft of merchandise valued at $129 on Sept. 1.
A vehicle owner reported that approximately $1,000 worth of auto parts or accessories were stolen from a vehicle on Martinique Circle between Sept. 1 and Sept. 2.
Kohl’s at 6950 North State Road 7 reported that a Ninja slushy machine valued at $349 was stolen on Sept. 2.
Home Depot at 4550 North State Road 7 reported the theft of garden equipment valued at $838 on Sept. 2.
A bicycle valued at $250 was reported stolen from a building on Abaco Drive on Sept. 2. Police had no suspect information.
Walmart at 5571 West Hillsboro Boulevard reported the theft of merchandise valued at $86 on Sept. 4.
Kohl’s at 6950 North State Road 7 reported a delayed retail theft involving $779 worth of merchandise on Sept. 4.
Walgreens at 4600 Coconut Creek Parkway reported the theft of merchandise valued at $241 on Sept. 5. The suspect fled before police arrived.
Walgreens at 4600 Coconut Creek Parkway reported a second delayed retail theft on Sept. 6. The suspects were unknown.
Walmart at 5571 West Hillsboro Boulevard reported the theft of merchandise valued at $246 on Sept. 7.
Burglary
A lock was cut and workers’ property valued at $500 was stolen from a construction site at 4868 Coconut Creek Parkway between Sept. 1 and Sept. 2.
A residential burglary was reported on Camellia Court on Sept. 3. The estimated loss was $200.
Vehicle Theft
A motorcycle was reported stolen from West Sample Road between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Banyan Bay on West Atlantic Boulevard between Sept. 6 and Sept. 7. No tracking device was available.
Fraud
A resident on West Sample Road reported an impersonation fraud on Sept. 3. The incidents allegedly occurred between July 2025 and June 2026, resulting in an estimated loss of $625.
Narcotics
A person was issued a notice to appear after being found with less than 20 grams of marijuana in the Elliot North community at 4092 Cocoplum Circle on Sept. 2.
Police seized three firearms and narcotics during a traffic stop at 4000 West Sample Road on Sept. 3. A 33-year-old man was taken to the Broward County Main Jail on felony narcotics and weapons allegations.
Domestic Disturbances
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in Wynmoor on Andros Isle on Sept. 3.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance in Pond Apple IV on Carambola Circle South on Sept. 3. The Florida Department of Children and Families was expected to follow up.
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance on Northwest 45th Avenue on Sept. 4.
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in Regency Lakes on Flamingo Lane on Sept. 4.
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in Riviera Palms on Lyons Road on Sept. 4.
Assault and Battery
Police investigated an aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon and a simple battery at Country Lakes Mobile Home Park on Northwest 39th Avenue on Sept. 5. A man was taken to the Broward County Main Jail.
Police investigated a domestic violence-related false imprisonment allegation on Sunshine Drive on Sept. 6. An arrest was made.
An alleged battery was reported at Cusano’s Baking Company on West Hillsboro Boulevard on Sept. 7. No arrest was made.
Property Damage
Damage to a vehicle’s paint was reported on Nassau Bend on Sept. 3. Police said it was unknown where or when the damage occurred.
A Coconut Creek police vehicle was damaged in a crash near Wiles and Lyons roads on Sept. 3.
Damage to a vehicle was reported in South Creek at 470 Sunshine Drive on Sept. 4.
Elderly Abuse and Neglect
Police assisted with a Florida Department of Children and Families investigation involving alleged elderly abuse or neglect on Northwest 39th Avenue on Sept. 3. The allegation was determined to be unfounded.
Police responded to a report of possible elderly self-neglect in the Hammocks Lake Forest community on Sept. 4. The incident was referred to the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Driving Under the Influence
A driver was arrested during a traffic stop at 4200 West Sample Road on Sept. 6 and taken to the Broward County Main Jail on allegations of driving under the influence and child neglect.
Animal Bite
Police responded to an animal-on-animal bite at 4728 West Atlantic Boulevard on Sept. 4. Both dogs were current on their vaccinations, and a report was sent to the county.
Arrests
Vincent Leo Scanlon, 62, was arrested Sept. 1 at 6970 North State Road 7 on a petit theft charge.
Derek Frazier, 24, was arrested Sept. 6 at 405 Sunshine Drive on a felony false imprisonment charge.
Deondre Alexander Hester, 33, was arrested Sept. 7 at 5571 West Hillsboro Boulevard on a petit theft charge involving merchandise valued between $100 and $750.
Durrant Augustus Brown, 41, was arrested Sept. 7 at 5571 West Hillsboro Boulevard on a petit theft charge involving merchandise valued between $100 and $750.
