Donnell Oliver {BSO}
A man has been arrested for crimes stemming from the violent kidnapping, beating, and rape of a Coconut Creek woman.
According to Coconut Creek Police Department records, Donnell Oliver, 24, of Atlanta, Georgia, was taken into custody by the Coconut Creek Police Department on March 30 following an investigation into allegations of March 29 kidnapping, aggravated battery, and sexual battery involving his ex-girlfriend.
According to a police report, Coconut Creek Police contacted the victim in the Broward Health North Hospital emergency room on the evening of March 29. The woman was found with visible head injuries, a swollen black eye, scratches on her chest and back, and was wearing a neck brace.
The victim told police that earlier that evening, she had gone to dinner in Miami with Oliver, her former partner and the father of her child. During the dinner, Oliver became enraged after she received a phone call from a male friend.
The victim stated that Oliver physically assaulted her in the restroom of the restaurant before forcibly taking her phone and smashing it on the ground. As they rode back to Coconut Creek in a hired black SUV, Oliver allegedly became more violent, repeatedly punching her in the head and face.
Records show that upon arriving at Monarch Station Apartments, Oliver reportedly instructed a friend to retrieve his belongings from the apartment, stating he expected to be arrested. While the friend was inside, Oliver prevented the victim from exiting the vehicle.
The victim told officers that when she attempted to flee, Oliver allegedly tackled her to the ground, causing her to strike her head on the pavement. He then bit her leg and dragged her back into the SUV against her will, continuing to assault her.
The victim told police that Oliver then demanded sex while they were still inside the vehicle. Fearing further physical harm, she did not resist. She reported that Oliver forced her to have vaginal intercourse and then continued to punch her afterward.
Eventually, the vehicle stopped at a Chevron gas station in Pompano Beach, where Oliver ordered an Uber to take the victim to her mother’s home.
Medical evaluation records later confirmed the victim had suffered a closed fracture of the orbital plate and other facial injuries. A forensic exam and rape kit were administered at the Nancy J. Cotterman Center.
Oliver is currently being held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.
