More than 400 teachers and administrators got together at Monarch High School on October 18 to participate in the Broward County Public Schools Technology, Innovation, Ethics, and Support (T.I.E.S.) Expo.
The educators participated in classes and seminars on AI advancements that are changing classroom learning. The expo brought together educators, district leaders, and technology industry partners for discussions about the technology that is driving changes in teaching and learning, as well as hands-on learning labs. One of the classes was led by a technology-savvy high school student.
“We are working to equip teachers to use the latest technology that will be a major part of education in the next century,” said Dr. Sherri Wilson, Director of Innovative Learning for Broward Schools. “They are learning how to implement artificial intelligence effectively in the classroom.”
Magic School was one of the education technology companies that participated in the expo. The company offers a computerized system to generate lesson plans, academic content, assessments, and help with parent–teacher communication, according to Maggie Senor, a representative with Magic School.
“We can help teachers generate effective lesson plans and rubrics through our system, and we are always updating our tools for all subjects and grade levels,” said Senor.
