Coconut Creek residents will see a newly renovated two-story building at Sabal Pines Park.
Known as the Cypress Pavillion, located next to the lake, the building has fallen into disrepair, been vandalized, and has been closed to the public.
According to a presentation by Brian Rosen, assistant director of public works, during the February 13 meeting, the work includes renovating the building, fixing a lower roof, repairing an elevator, and resurfacing the first floor.
The commission approved a resolution to execute a $311K contract with FSV Construction Company to renovate the building.
During the meeting, commissioner John Brodie questioned most of the expenditures on the agreement and asked if the city was getting the best deal on the project.
Vice Mayor Jackie Railey said that FSV offered the lowest price of the three bids received for the project.
Mayor Sandra Welch has been waiting long for the Pavilion to be renovated and is looking forward to its completion.
Sabal Pines Park is located at 5005 NW 39th Avenue, Coconut Creek.
