Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from April 29 to May 5. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
A woman was arrested following a domestic battery incident that occurred shortly after midnight on April 29. Police responded and took 45-year-old Cindy Yamilette Munozcardona into custody.
A battery incident at Dave Thomas Educational Center on April 29 led to the arrest of a 16-year-old female student. According to the report, the teen pepper-sprayed an 18-year-old student in the eyes with a keychain canister during a dispute. She was charged with battery and possessing a weapon on school property.
Later that day, an adult male was attacked by unknown juveniles near Bella Roma restaurant. One juvenile, a 16-year-old white male, was arrested on May 1 and charged with battery causing bodily harm.
TD Bank reported that an unknown suspect cashed a fraudulent check between April 28 and April 29.
In two separate cases, vehicles were burglarized in Coconut Creek. One victim reported that multiple tools were stolen from their car, totaling approximately $2,600 in losses. Another victim reported that their car window was smashed and a wallet was stolen. The stolen credit card was used shortly after.
A domestic battery was reported at the 4300 block of NW 51st Street on May 3. Juan Carlos Jassolopez was identified as the victim, and 44-year-old Denisse Jasso was arrested and charged with domestic battery.
A child abuse investigation involving a 16-year-old boy began on April 28. Separately, a 33-year-old woman, Vonteria Georkisha, was arrested on May 2 and charged with child abuse without great bodily harm.
An elderly self-neglect report involving a 72-year-old woman on April 30 was determined to be unfounded.
A suicide attempt was reported involving a 73-year-old man who was found unconscious and transported to Northwest Medical Center. He remains intubated.
Several retail thefts occurred throughout the week. At Sephora, more than $1,200 in merchandise was stolen. At CVS Pharmacy, baby formula valued at $1,225 was taken. Two Black females were identified as suspects in the CVS case. A separate arrest was made at Home Depot, where 45-year-old Armando Dearmas was taken into custody and charged with petit theft.
Two catalytic converters were reported stolen from vehicles parked at House of Rest Church and Bell Apartments. Elijah Angel Drogalis and Ronel Joseph were listed as the victims in those cases.
Numerous Baker Act cases were documented, including incidents at Shell gas station, Coco Parc, and the SOS Village. These involved both juveniles and adults deemed in need of mental health evaluation and care.
Police responded to several reports of suspicious activity, including a trespassing incident at Broward College North Campus, a possible student fight between Monarch High and SLAM Boca, and a juvenile who walked to North Lauderdale without permission.
Officers also issued trespass warnings, assisted other agencies with warrant arrests, and documented found property, including a recovered tag and a found cellphone at the Promenade.
In addition to the earlier arrests mentioned, several others were taken into custody during the reporting period:
- Carlos Mauricio Marquez, 47, was arrested for domestic battery on April 29.
- Michael Lee Johnson, 54, was arrested for trespassing at 5400 W Sample Road on April 30.
- Shelton Lalon Rorie, 21, was arrested for trespassing on May 2.
- Aissatou Badiane, 52, was arrested for trespassing on May 2.
- Julissa Quiles, 55, was arrested for domestic battery on May 3.
- Micheli Mattosdiasbento, 37, was arrested for domestic battery on May 4.
