Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from April 8 – 14. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Thefts and Burglaries
A vehicle was stolen from Casa Palma between April 7 at 5 p.m. and April 8 at 7:15 a.m. from 6132 N State Road 7.
A prescription pill was reported missing from Coconut Creek Elementary between April 2 and April 3.
A retail theft at Publix, 4849 Coconut Creek Pkwy, occurred on April 8 at 9:58 a.m., with $70 in merchandise stolen.
At Home Depot, 4550 N State Road 7, three Milwaukee hammer drills valued at $1,197 were stolen on April 8.
A bicycle valued at $408 was stolen from Coconut Creek Plaza on April 8 between 4 p.m. and 9:39 p.m.
Walgreens, located at 4600 Coconut Creek Pkwy, reported a retail theft of $212.91 on April 9.
A second retail theft at Home Depot was reported on April 9, with $308 worth of goods stolen.
Sephora at 4455 Lyons Rd reported a delayed retail theft of $28 on April 11.
Another Home Depot theft occurred on April 12 between 9:21 and 11 a.m., totaling $229.
Fraud
A victim reported a $20,000 fraud on April 9 tied to an incident from September 18, 2024, at 6172 N SR 7.
Falsified checks were reported between April 4 and April 7 at Standard Lines Brokerage, 4443 Lyons Rd.
Disturbances and Property Crimes
A delayed disturbance was reported at Coconut Creek High School from April 4.
Property damage incidents were reported on Hillsboro Blvd and at 3743 NW 63rd Ct.
A crosswalk sign was damaged at SR 810 and NW 39th Ave on April 9.
Two trespass incidents occurred: one at a Publix involving a 67-year-old woman and another at Coconut Creek Plaza involving two homeless individuals.
Drugs and Narcotics
A narcotics-related arrest took place on April 8 at 3600 W Copans Rd.
A crash on April 12 at 4400 W Sample Rd resulted in a DUI and fentanyl possession arrest.
A narcotics overdose involving heroin or opioids occurred on April 13 at 4764 W Atlantic Blvd.
Other Incidents
Police responded to a suspicious death at 3933 NW 55th St on April 11.
A missing juvenile was located and returned home on April 10.
A traffic stop on April 13 led to an arrest for possession of a fictitious license plate.
Baker Acts and Mental Health
Multiple Baker Acts were reported throughout the week, including one involving a juvenile on NW 55th Ct and others at Pelican Ter, Banyan Bay, and W Atlantic Blvd.
Arrests
Caimmon Camronkamari Frazier, 20, was arrested for possession of cannabis over 20 grams at 600 Lyons Rd on April 8.
Jose R. Rodriguez, 41, was arrested for petit theft at 4849 Coconut Creek Pkwy on April 8.
Deon Deangelo Wiggins, 39, was arrested for felony battery by strangulation at 1100 Banks Rd on April 8.
Alan Wilson Clark, 59, was arrested for failing to register a vehicle at 4300 W Atlantic Blvd on April 8.
Tony Junior Justin, 28, was arrested for possession of cannabis over 20 grams at 4600 W Copans Rd on April 8.
Yeril C. Ortiz, 44, was arrested for third-degree felony driving with a suspended license at 400 Lyons Rd on April 9.
Dwight A. Brown, 48, was arrested for battery involving dating violence in Coconut Creek on April 10.
Amanda Holly Helwig, 39, was arrested for grand theft at Home Depot, 4550 N State Road 7, on April 10.
