Coconut Creek residents may soon have new volleyball and pickleball courts.
During the October 8 meeting, City Manager Sheila Rose said she and senior staff met with members of the Broward County School Board to discuss placing new volleyball and pickleball courts on old tennis courts between the Coconut Creek Recreation Complex and Lyons Creek Middle School.
The Commission granted Rose a consensus to move forward and to establish a working group that would meet with the school board to discuss an amended joint use agreement.
The Commission has not yet set the financial arrangement or budget for construction and maintenance costs for the new courts. The commission’s consensus allows Rose to begin developing and negotiating the project’s finances.
The recreation complex is at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard, and Lyons Creek Middle is located at 4333 Sol Press Boulevard.
