The City of Coconut Creek announced a new Peewee Basketball program for children ages 3 to 5.
The program, which will run from February 5 through February 26, is designed to introduce foundational basketball skills through various activities, drills, and exercises.
The sessions will take place every Wednesday from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the Community Center, located at 1100 Lyons Road. The program is open to both Coconut Creek residents and non-residents.
Participation costs $45 for residents and $55 for non-residents. Credit card payment is required.
One unique aspect of this program is the requirement for parent participation. Each child must be accompanied by one parent, who will assist with the activities. To ensure safety, both the child and parent must wear sneakers during the sessions.
After the program, each participant will receive a shirt, a certificate, and a trophy to celebrate their involvement.
Registration is now open, and space is limited to 12 participants. Those interested can register online through the WebTrac portal at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Community Center or Recreation Complex, located at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. A WebTrac account is necessary for online registration, and assistance in setting up an account can be obtained by calling the Community Center at 954-545-6670.
