Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from July 22 to July 28. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Property Damage & Theft
Property damage was reported at 4800 W Copans Rd and 4413 Lyons Rd on July 22.
A vehicle was stolen overnight from Banyan Bay between July 22–23 and from Ginger Tree between July 24–25.
A burglary of a vehicle occurred on July 27 at South Creek. A juvenile suspect was apprehended by K9 and turned over to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
Shoplifting incidents occurred at Home Depot, Publix (Winston Park), and multiple times at Walmart, with losses ranging from $12 to $1,598.
Fraud & Impersonation
Attempted fraud was reported on NW 71st St on July 22, with possible links to other cases.
Credit card fraud involving $550 was reported on Coconut Creek Parkway.
Two separate reports of fraud impersonation were reported on NW 41st Terrace and at the PD lobby.
Traffic & DUI
Multiple DUI-related incidents occurred:
July 22 at 3900 W Hillsboro Blvd (DUI crash)
July 26 at 4600 Wiles Rd (vehicle crash)
July 27 at 3600 Lyons Rd (wrong-way driver)
Traffic stops resulted in arrests for a fake tag, driving with a suspended license (habitual offender), and fleeing law enforcement.
Battery & Domestic Disturbances
A simple battery between two individuals occurred at Sprouts on July 22.
A domestic battery was reported at Trails of Willowbend on July 25. The suspect was arrested.
Another domestic battery occurred on July 26 at Coconut Palm Club, but no arrest was made.
Suspicious Activity & Police Assists
Suspicious incidents were reported at NW 43rd Terrace, Carambola Cir N, and Sorbet. One involved a fraud attempt possibly linked to a separate case.
Police assisted other agencies on multiple occasions, including to identify suspects, respond to DCF calls, and transport individuals.
Mental Health & Medical
Several individuals were taken into custody under the Baker Act from locations including Wynmoor, Evergreen Lakes, Tamarind Village, and Coquina.
A medical emergency involving an AED occurred on Abaco Drive.
A sick person report was taken from Bermuda Circle and Calamondin Circle.
Deaths
Suspicious death reported July 22 at NW 44th Ave.
Natural deaths occurred on July 24 at Dahoon Ave and on July 26 at Aruba Way.
Other Notable Incidents
An animal bite occurred at Solaire on Wiles Rd on July 26.
Found property was recovered at various locations including Publix, Township pool, and along State Road 7.
Two cases involving missing juveniles were reported and resolved.
A violation of a protection order was reported at Coquina on July 27.
An aggravated assault and resisting arrest occurred at Windmill Park the same evening.
Arrests
Coral Mulvey, 34, was arrested for DUI (2nd offense) on July 22.
Shawn Petigny, 25, was arrested for marijuana possession over 20 grams on July 23.
Dominique Johnson, 33; Jermayne Barnes, 32; and Alfred Exantus, 38, were arrested for petit theft on separate dates.
Leonard Patterson, 32, was arrested for driving with a suspended license (habitual).
Bruno Rodrigues, 43, was arrested for domestic battery on July 25.
Curtis Chornopyski, 51, was arrested for DUI on July 26.
