Coconut Creek is hungry for more business development, and city leaders want new ideas.
The city recently issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to qualified candidates to develop a comprehensive set of economic redevelopment strategies and conduct a thorough evaluation of the economic potential of vacant city-owned land.
Proposals are due by June 18, and city leaders expect to have a firm under contract by the end of summer, according to Yvonne Lopez, the city’s spokesperson.
During the June 3 Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting, City Manager Sheila Rose said she is looking forward to new ideas for developing vacant lots in the city. She is also excited about new businesses that are choosing the city, such as Sprouts Farmers Market, which recently celebrated a grand opening.
