A Coconut Creek man is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly threatening to shoot his girlfriend and forcing his way into her bedroom during an argument sparked by his suspected use of the Ashley Madison dating site.
Coconut Creek Police Department arrest records show that Andrew Manson, 35, of Coconut Creek, was arrested on June 5 at his residence near the 4800 block of North State Road 7, where he lives with the alleged victim.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the incident reportedly began when the victim returned home from work and discovered suspicious notifications on Manson’s phone, including messages from the Ashley Madison dating platform.
Believing Manson was being unfaithful, an issue she claimed had been ongoing throughout their relationship, the victim told law enforcement she left the residence and went to the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino.
While there, Manson allegedly called her, demanded to know where she went, and accused her of being with other men. The victim told police she returned home, where the two engaged in a verbal altercation.
During the argument, Manson allegedly told the victim, “People like you deserve to be shot in the face with an elephant gun,” which she said made her fear for her life, causing her to lock herself in her bedroom to get away from Manson.
Records show Manson began banging on the door and counting to three before breaking it down. She then fled the home and called 911.
When officers arrived, Manson admitted to breaking the door but claimed he only did so to retrieve his phone, which he said the victim had taken. Police noted that Manson has a documented history of domestic violence, including a previous arrest on July 9, 2024.
Manson was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
