The City of Coconut Creek invites young ocean enthusiasts to embark on a new educational adventure with its Marine Science 101 program.
Designed for children ages 8 to 11, the program offers hands-on experiences that teach participants about local marine life and the importance of ocean conservation.
Classes will be held on Thursdays from September 4 to September 18, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Community Center, located at 1100 Lyons Road. The program concludes with a special field trip on Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., to the Loggerhead Marine Life Center. During this final class, participants will have the opportunity to meet sea turtles and explore marine life up close.
The cost of the program is $90 for Coconut Creek residents and $110 for non-residents. Only credit card payments are accepted. Space is limited to 20 participants, and registration will remain open until the capacity is reached.
Parents can register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Community Center or the Recreation Complex, located at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. A WebTrac account is required for online registration. For help setting up an account, call the Community Center at 954-545-6670.
