Through our joint effort with the Coconut Creek Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Coconut Creek’s crime and arrests through March 18, 2024.
Assault
A victim of Aggravated Assault at Rivera Palms on Lyons Road was reported on 03/12/2024. An Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and improper display of a firearm was reported.
Electronic Harassment
A victim of Electronic Harassment at Coconut Creek High School on NW 44 Avenue was reported on 03/13/2024. A harassing video was posted on Instagram.
Theft
A victim of Theft – From Building at Extra Space Storage on Hillsboro Blvd was reported on 03/14/2024. A total estimated loss was $14,000. Items were reported stolen from storage units.
A victim of Theft – Auto Parts/Accessories at The Landings on Fisherman’s Drive was reported on 03/13/2024. A total estimated loss was $2,500. The owner of a Honda Civic suffered wheel theft.
Walmart was a retail Theft/Shoplifting victim on W Hillsboro Blvd, reported on 03/15/2024. The total estimated loss was $596.
A victim of Theft – From Motor Vehicle on W Sample Road was reported on 03/14/2024. A total estimated loss was $400.
A victim of Theft – From a Motor Vehicle at Tradewinds Apartments on NW 42 Avenue was reported on 03/15/2024. A total estimated loss was $300.
A victim of Theft From a Motor Vehicle (multiple) in Gingertree on Carambola Cir S was reported on 03/15/2024. A total estimated loss was $300.
Suspicious Incident
A Suspicious Incident on Coconut Creek Parkway at South Florida Jewish Academy was reported on 03/13/2024. A 12-year-old male made a statement about a possible school shooting on Snapchat.
Death
A victim of Death – Suspicious/Unknown in Banyan Bay on W Atlantic Blvd was reported on 03/14/2024. Police are investigating it as a Suspicious Death.
Threat Assessment
A Threat Assessment Report at Lyons Creek Middle School on Sol Press Blvd was reported on 03/15/2024. A 13-year-old male made a verbal threat to another student regarding a teacher.
Fire
A victim of Fire – Structure/Dumpster/Vehicle Etc. A residential fire on Banyan Trails on Banyan Trails Drive was reported on 03/15/2024.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary – Residence in Wynmoor on Lucaya Lane was reported on 03/17/2024. A total estimated loss was $10,000.
Arrests
Duke, Tristan Andrew, 38, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault W/ Deadly Weapon Without Intent To Kill at 3880 Lyons Road on 03/12/2024.
Severin, Jahchristie Ianna, 33, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Battery – Knew Or Should Know Victim Was Pregnant at 5025 Wiles Road on 03/14/2024.
Cartagena, Ternell Dejuan, 22, was arrested on a charge of Lewd Lascivious Handling/Fondling Child Under 16 W/O Sex Battery at 5430 Lyons Road on 03/14/2024.
Meyer, Thomas Albert, 28, was arrested on 03/16/2024 for battery on a Person 65 Years Of age.
Chase, Steven James, 48, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 4 Or Subs Offense at 1400 Lyons Road on 03/17/2024.
