Monarch and Coconut Creek High School wrapped up the spring sports season, highlighted by several All-Conference Selections.
The Monarch softball team reached Regionals after winning 12 games this year and had Sara Connor named to the First Team. She set a career-high with three home runs and also had four triples, 25 runs, and 11 stolen bases.
Emily Phipps and Mylie Carlson were each named to the Second Team. Both players hit home runs and combined to drive in 28 runs this season. Faith Lindeman, Camryn Piskun, Sammie Rice, and Jayden Uzzo were all Honorable Mentions.
The baseball team, under first-year coach Liam Burns, won seven games in a tough Division. In the postseason, they lost to Piper High School but had Anthony Mercado named an Honorable Mention.
The boys’ volleyball team ranked 87th in the state of Florida this year and went 15-7 after competing in Regionals. Fabio Castilho Jr. was picked to the Second Team after leading the team with 554 digs. He also added 44 aces, 38 aces, 11 kills, and one block. Kenny Santon was an Honorable Mention.
The flag football team knocked off Coral Glades in the postseason and finished the year with six wins. Indiana Jordan, Saniah Whyte, and Aaliyah Williams were all Honorable Mentions.
Coconut Creek only had a couple of teams in action this spring but had four Honorable Mentions. Nathaniel Black, Kaman Huggins, and Malik Yow were selected from the boy’s track and field team, while Jayda Washington was picked from the girls team.
