
Coconut Creek Football. {CC Athletics}
The Coconut Creek High School football team played Miami Northwestern High School in its opening game on Thursday, losing 45-0.
The Bulls came into the game as the 27th-ranked team in Florida and 97th nationally and jumped to a quick 14-0 lead. Northwestern added a field goal and two more touchdowns to lead 31-0 at halftime before adding two more scores in the second half.
The Cougars, who made it to Regionals last year, fell in their opening game for the first time since 2018. They will have a week off before playing at Baylor High School. The Red Raiders are the top-ranked team in Tennessee and also come in at 63rd nationally after winning 10 games last season.
