The City of Coconut Creek has planned a fun event for young basketball enthusiasts: a 4 on 4 double elimination, half-court basketball tournament.
This competition is open to both girls and boys aged 12 to 14.
The girls’ tournament will kick off on Saturday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the boys’ tournament on Tuesday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m. Both events will be held at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.
Games will be played under two conditions: they will last either 12 minutes or until a team scores 21 points, whichever occurs first. Winners of the tournament can look forward to receiving gift cards.
The participation rules are clear: teams must consist of a maximum of 6 players, with a fee of $15 per team if registered on or before March 14th. Registrations made after this date will incur a fee of $25.
In addition, all participating teams are required to complete a registration form and waiver and declare their team shirt color at the time of registration, which is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
The tournament will host a maximum of 6 teams for each category (girls and boys), and registration is open until filled.
Prospective teams can register online through the city’s WebTrac system or by walking in at the Recreation Complex or the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road.
