Tis the season — yes, really — to begin holiday preparations with a children’s arts and crafts workshop.
Coconut Creek will host the Festival of Lights celebration on Monday, October 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.
The family-friendly event is suitable for children ages 7 to 12. It will include an evening of arts and crafts, including an opportunity for children to make candleholders, known as diyas, which are a staple in many Eastern festivals.
Attending costs $20 for Coconut Creek residents and $30 for non-residents.
Spaces are limited to 20 participants, and registration is ongoing until all spots are filled.
Those interested can register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Recreation Complex or the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road.
To register online, you need a WebTrac account. The Recreation Complex can help you set one up by calling 954-956-1580. For more information, visit CoconutCreek.net/Parks.
