In another great high school football season, Coconut Creek, many student-athletes received All-County Awards, highlighted by quarterback A.J Hairston of Monarch winning Broward County Player of the Year.
Football
Hairston, who still has one year left on the varsity football team, finished his junior year with 3,217 passing yards. He also threw for 32 touchdowns and had only six passes interceptions, helping lead Monarch to their first District Championship since 2014. Hairston also had 347 rushing yards and added seven touchdowns on the ground.
Monarch’s leading reviver this year was Jessie Fields. The senior had 1,054 yards receiving yards and also scored eight touchdowns. Fields competed in the BCAA and Miami-Dade vs. Broward All-Star Game at the end of the season. Gavin Peacock was selected to First Team All-County on defense after recording 123 tackles to lead the team for Monarch. He also added seven sacks and participated earlier this month in the Miami-Dade Broward All-Star Game with Fields.
Deandre Desinor had a record-breaking season for North Broward Prep. While the team went 5-5, Desinor ran for 1,248 yards with 16 rushing touchdowns to make second-team All-County. He also shined on special teams and defense, including one game where he set multiple school records with seven touchdowns, 301 rushing yards, and 477 total yards.
Monarch had six honorable mentions to the All-Conference team, including three wide receivers. Walter Parrish, committed to FAU, was joined by Valdosta State commit Joshua Pena and Jabari Brady. These three receivers combined for nearly 2,000 recovering yards and 24 touchdowns. Running back Willie Reed rushed for 971 yards and eight touchdowns, while Brayden Slade was also selected after finishing the season with 53 tackles and five interceptions.
Coconut Creek High School also had a pair of Honorable Mentions in Jamarie Hostzclaaw and Travis Thompson after finishing the season with a record go 6-5. Jaden Blackburn, Brandon Hoch, Graham Mathieu, Zandher Mesidort, and Alex Pavon were also recognized for NBP.
Golf
In a year where Sean Richards recorded the lowest 18-hole score in school history, he was selected to the First Team All-County Golf Team. He finished third at Districts and tenth in the State Championship. He was a medalist four times this season. Camilla Terzolli was also picked to the All-County First Team after finishing fourth in Regionals and tenth act States. She also had her best result at the Palm League Golf Invitational, coming in second place.
Aryannah Ahmad was named to the All-County Second Team. She came in first individually in Districts for teams that didn’t advance and finished tied for 17th in regionals after shooting an 80. Cruz Allegianis, Mac Lobdell, and Filipo Martelli were Honorable Mentions.
Swimming
Monarch High School Brayden Spalluto reached States and was picked as an Honorable Mention. He also won a District Championship in Swimming.
Volleyball
North Broward Prep’s three Honorable Mentions from the volleyball team were Hasmin Martin, Destiny Wiggins, and Baylor Worley. The Eagles went 9-9 before falling to Coral Springs Charter in the postseason.
