Behind a tremendous performance from Stella Marvel and a 19-2 run in the second quarter, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls basketball team defeated Hollywood Hills High School on Wednesday.
Marcel finished the night with a game-high 19 points. Both Leah Dubreuze and Ofek Gur finished in double figures. Caylee McFarlane and Ava Mangone combined to score eight as the Eagles improved their record to 3-4.
Despite another heroic effort from Gur, MSD was coming off a heartbreaking loss on Monday to Coral Glades 41-37 and Northeast High School. However, they will return to the court on Monday, January 3, at 6 p.m. to kick off the second half of the season.
