In their final tournament of the fall season, the Parkland Pokers 13U team won the Perfect Game East Christmas Bash from December 17-19 in Fort Myers.
Marcus Hall was awarded the MVP for pitchers following his incredible start in the semifinals. He pitched a complete game and struck out ten batters against the Wesley Chapel Storm National Team after winning three pool play games on December 18.
The Pokers fell behind early in the final but rallied to beat Base Eleven out of Orlando. Parkland trailed 6-1 in the second inning, but after strong relief pitching from Reid Dadic and Cade Raley, they went on to win 8-6.
“This team showed some true grit battling back from an early 6-1 deficit in Championship game,” said Head Coach Greg Raley. “They didn’t want their fall season to end in that fashion, and they showed a lot of heart and found a way to get it done.”
The Pokers started the season with a 14-5 and won their final 21 games to finish the year with a record of 31-5. Next, the team will be in action until the weekend of January 14-17, back in Ft. Myers for the Perfect Game MLK Championships.
