A Nov. 23 crash in Pompano Beach left a Coconut Creek man dead, authorities said Tuesday.
Gustavo Rojas Ruiz, 70, of Northwest 39th Avenue, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S10 northbound in the southbound lanes of Powerline Road when the vehicle collided head-on with a 2008 Volkswagen shortly after 7:50 p.m., according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported the Jetta’s female driver from the crash scene near the 600 block of North Powerline Road to a local hospital. Authorities said she suffered serious injuries. Her name was not made public by BSO.
Paramedics pronounced Rojas Ruiz dead at the scene.
