Saying Goodbye To Your Travel Plans? We Have Spring Break Camp Options in Parkland

Spring break may be a bit different this year for those saying goodbye to their travel plans. There are a number of options for students around Parkland to help prevent a week of boredom and aggravation.

The following camps are taking place from March 23 through March 27.

Kingdom Training Basketball Camp

Kingdom Training’s spring break basketball camp includes everything basketball– intense drills to master the fundaments, skill-building activities, and fun games all packaged together to improve and maximize each child’s potential. The fun takes place on the courts inside the Parkland Recreation Center gymnasium.

Boys and Girls, ages 5-16 will be separated into different divisions based on age and skill level. The co-ed camp runs March 23 to 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended hours available. Lunch is provided, and prices are $200 per week for residents and $240 per week for non-residents. Visit KingdomTraining.com.

Art Paper Scissors Art Camp

Daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., children ages 5 to 18 can explore their creativity through the art-focused curriculum. From painting to mixed media, they will be introduced to a variety of mediums and styles. Projects will be adapted to the needs and comfort levels of all children. The cost is $189.99 for the week, including snacks and water, and a pizza lunch on Friday. Art Paper Scissors is located at 6654 Parkside Drive.

Code Ninjas

Spark your imagination and explore game concepts through Roblox, no matter what your level – from beginner to expert. Children ages 7 to 14 can participate March 23 to 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for one day ($80) or all week ($399). Additional one-day camps will be held on March 17 and 20. Visit codeninjas.com.

City of Parkland Spring Break Camp

The city will have a spring break camp at the Parkland Recreation Center for children K-5, March 23 to 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students will travel every day to great locations like the Museum of Discovery and Science, Sky Zone and Laser Quest. The cost for the week is $250 for Parkland residents and $300 for non-residents.

Athletic Republic Spring Break Camp

Join Athletic Republic during spring break to participate in a number of different sports. Kids will be divided into age groups to play structured sports, like football, baseball, wiffleball, volleyball, basketball, and dodgeball. Camp takes place from March 23 to 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost is $200 for residents and $240 for non-residents per week.

Coral Springs Museum of Art

During spring break, children stay active through the exploration of the arts where they will discover their ability to see things the way an artist does. They will learn how to use color, line, shape and add value to their work to produce their very own masterpieces. Spring in the Studio has daily sessions on March 17, 20, and 23 through the 27, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for $60 per day. Artists ages 5 (currently enrolled in kindergarten) to 15 are welcome, and pre-care and aftercare are available.

Sawgrass Nature Center

3000 Sportsplex Drive, Coral Springs
Sawgrass Nature Center has an environmental camp for children, ages 6 to 12, March 23 to 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camp Wild inspires an appreciation of South Florida’s unique environment and wildlife through fun, hands-on activities. Each day of camp features new lessons, games, encounters with live animals, and nature crafts. Kids will overcome fears and learn to safely explore the wild world around them. Camp GTA

Gerri’s Travel Adventures and Programs is offering a spring camp with a full line-up of adventures, like Lion Country Safari and Parrot Jungle Island. GerriAnn Pane is a former City of Parkland camp director of 22 years. Travel camps for ages 5 to 12 will take place from March 23 to the 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the cost is $55 a day or $250 for all five days. Call 954-803-2468 or email CampsGTA@gmail.com.

USK Karate

USK Karate has an action-packed camp for kids that teaches self-defense, builds confidence, discipline, focus and more, with field trips to popular locations. Snacks are provided each day, and lunch will be provided by Jersey Mike’s if purchased separately. Two camp shirts will be included in registration. The camp will take place from March 23 to 27, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cost is $277.

ShineMSD

ShineMSD will hold a free workshop on March 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Foundation. Visit shinemsd.org/camp-shine.

Eagles Haven

March 23 to 27, Eagles Haven will have a full schedule of activities during the week. Free workshops include art, yoga, therapy dogs, kickboxing and more. Visit eagleshaven.org to check out the calendar.
