The high school girls’ volleyball teams in Coconut Creek celebrated their seniors this week, while North Broward Prep also captured a tournament championship.
North Broward Prep recognized two seniors, Jayda Palumbo and Annelisia Crocker, who were both members of last year’s State Championship team. The Eagles then cruised to 25-15, 25-11, and 25-23 wins over Miami Country Day School.
The Eagles went on to compete in the Palm League Tournament on Wednesday and captured their second straight championship, defeating Saint Andrew’s and Pine Crest all in two sets.
Monarch High School also celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday against Somerset Academy, recognizing Aysha Ribeiro, Aliyah Gurreonero, Angelina Urt, Samantha Preddy, Gabriella Jimenez, Jensyn Clark and Bailee Sheehan.
The Knights opened the week with a win over Franklin Academy on Monday before taking the first two sets against Somerset Academy on Senior Night. However, Monarch couldn’t close out the match and suffered only its third loss of the season.
Coconut Creek High School recognized its lone senior, Jesuany Rodriguez, as the Cougars closed out the regular season with a loss to Plantation High School.
The Cougars finished the regular season with two wins against Blanche Ely and Hallandale High School and will now prepare for the District Tournament.
