Runners and walkers will soon have a new way to stay active and connect, as the city launches its weekly Creek Run Society running program.
The City of Coconut Creek invites residents and neighbors to lace up their running shoes for a community running program designed to help adults stay active, build endurance, and connect through movement.
The Monday evening sessions welcome runners and walkers of all experience levels and paces. Each session includes structured activities such as warm-ups, interval training, partner runs, free runs, and cool-down exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water, and each registration includes a Creek Run Society training shirt.
The program is primarily for adults 18 and older. Participants ages 12 to 17 may also join, but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Sessions will run Mondays from Feb. 9 through May 18, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., with no session scheduled for Feb. 16.
The first half of the program, from Feb. 9 through March 30, will take place at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Blvd. The second half, from April 6 through May 18, will move to Sabal Pines Park, located at 5005 NW 39th Ave.
The 14-week session costs $35 for Coconut Creek residents and $45 for non-residents. To qualify for resident pricing, participants must provide a state-issued driver’s license or valid passport along with proof of Coconut Creek residency, such as a voter registration card, water bill, cable bill, or electric bill dated within the past two months.
Payment is accepted only by credit card. Registration remains open until sessions fill, with space limited to 25 participants per session.
Participants can register online at CoconutCreek.gov/WebTrac or in person at the Community Center or the Recreation Complex. A WebTrac account is required for online registration. Assistance with account setup is available by contacting the Community Center at 954-545-6670.
