
Flag football. {City of Coconut Creek}
The City of Coconut Creek has announced the launch of its 2025 Youth Flag Football League, offering local children and teens an exciting opportunity to get active, compete, and build teamwork on the field.
Open to players aged 6 to 17, the league features 7-on-7 non-contact flag football and includes 10 regular-season games for each division, as well as playoffs and championship games, except for the instructional 7U division. Each participant will receive a jersey, shorts, and a mouthpiece as part of their registration.
Divisions are based on age as of August 31, 2026. Players must be at least 6 years old by that date and may not turn 18 before then. Five-year-olds may register if they are entering kindergarten, while 17-year-olds must not be entering 12th grade for the 2025–26 school year.
League divisions are as follows:
- 7U Instructional (ages 6–7, kindergarten–1st grade)
- 9U (ages 8–9, 2nd–3rd grade)
- 11U (ages 10–11, 4th–5th grade)
- 14U (ages 12–14, 6th–8th grade)
- 17U (ages 15–17, 9th–11th grade)
Player evaluations will be held at Sabal Pines Park baseball field #2, located at 5005 NW 39th Avenue. Evaluations are not required for the 7U Instructional division, as those teams will be assigned randomly. Evaluation dates and times are:
- 14U – Monday, July 7 at 6:30 p.m.
- 11U – Tuesday, July 8 at 6:30 p.m.
- 9U – Wednesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m.
- 17U – Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m.
Each evaluation will be followed by a coaches-only draft.
Practices will begin the week of July 14. Games are scheduled to start August 19, with the championship games slated for October 18. All games will be held at Sabal Pines Park. Practices will be determined by team coaches and may vary due to weather or field availability.
Game days for each division are as follows, though they may be subject to change based on enrollment, field space, or weather:
- 7U Instructional – Wednesdays and Saturdays
- 9U – Tuesdays and Saturdays
- 11U – Wednesdays and Saturdays
- 14U – Wednesdays and Saturdays
- 17U – Tuesdays and Saturdays
Registration is open from April 21 through June 21, or until divisions reach capacity. Fees are $120 for Coconut Creek residents and $170 for non-residents. Payment must be made by credit card. Proof of residency is required for discounted rates and must include a state-issued ID and a recent utility or voter registration document. Birth certificates may be requested to verify age and guardianship.

Volunteer coaches are also needed, and their availability may directly impact the number of players each division can accommodate. Volunteers must complete an application and pass a background check, including fingerprinting. Those interested should contact the Community Center or email the same address listed above.
