Coconut Creek residents can utilize technology to honor the lives of loved ones who have passed away.
Through the Virtual Memorial Bench Program, families can create a digital tribute that can be shared and visited at any time. New peaceful reflection spaces featuring trees and benches will be available at Donaldson Park, Sabal Pines Park, and City Hall, according to city information.
The city is transitioning to a new virtual memorial program, replacing the current traditional tree and bench program, to meet the changing needs of the community and ensure sustainability. While trees and benches offer a beautiful and lasting tribute, they can be challenging to maintain, and there is limited space. Families can participate in the virtual memorial option for $25, which will allow people to celebrate their loved ones anytime, anywhere, according to city information.
The official registration process will be available soon. The online application will include a photo, the loved one’s dates, and a loving message. It will serve as a lasting tribute to people who considered Coconut Creek home, according to city information.
