The Coconut Creek Hometown Market opened on Saturday morning, October 4, with a variety of vendors and live music.
The market will be available on the first and third Saturdays of each month, until March 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Township Plaza, located on the Southeast corner of Lyons Road and Sample Road.
“We are offering this seasonal market for the community because our residents have said they wanted it. We want people to have a positive experience here,” said Leo Moleiro, special events planner for Coconut Creek.
More than 60 vendors were offering baked goods, gourmet snacks, produce, coffee, plants, arts, and craft items. Families and individuals walked among the vendor booths, sampling food items and learning about the arts and crafts. Each market day will have a theme, and October 18 will be a “Trick or Treat” day.
The Women’s Club of Coconut Creek had a booth, where members sold craft items to raise money for their scholarship program and encouraged women to join. “This is a nice community event and we enjoy being here,” said Kathy Grodin, a member.

Members of Artists with Autism had a booth and were selling their artwork. “I love to paint, and I am selling some of my paintings here. This is a nice event, and I enjoy being with other artists,” said Jordyn Abramson, a member.
Tania Brooks, the owner of Tania Bakes in Coconut Creek, was offering a variety of gourmet cookies. “I love being a part of this market, and everything is going well,” she said.
